"Old Caddy"
When I think of Caddies, I think of a symbol of status. A symbol that my people used to cling to in order to assert their place in society, in order to be, feel seen. Yet, it’s just a car. Something that depreciates in value. Something that decays to rust and dust with time. Despite those facts, there is nothing that can replace the value that a Cadillac has to some people - extrinsic and intrinsic. Even I sometimes get pulled into the depths of my mind recalling fond memories that involved this notorious vehicle, but to me it’s just an object in a scene. Just like this scene that represents decay and ephemerality. “Old Caddy.”
